New Year

New Year is my favourite holiday. It is one of our family traditions to celebrate it at home. Every year on New Year's Eve we have a wonderful party.
We start to prepare for this holiday beforehand. I always make a lot of greeting cards for my nearest and dearest. I don't buy them in the shop, I always make them myself. I like to paint funny greeting pictures on them. Everybody likes to get presents. So do I. My parents always give me very interesting presents. They try to find out what I dream about. It's very exciting to find these wonderful presents under our Christmas tree. I always help my mum about the house. We cook and set our holiday table together. We usually make a lot of tasty dishes. When the clock strikes 12 o'clock we wish each other "Happy New Year". Then we watch fantastic musical shows on TV, sing, dance and go out to watch fireworks. It's great! I always remember our New Year nights.

Holidays

There are a lot of holidays in England.
One of them is April fool’s Day.
April fool’s Day or all Fool's Day is on the first of April.
The fun of the holiday is to play silly but harmless jokes on family
members and friends. The victim of these jokes is called an April fool.
This holiday first appeared in France

some people continued to use the old calendar
and to celebrate New Year's Day on the1st of April.
These people were called April fools.
Playing jokes on this day became popular first
